What you will do:
- Review and approve incoming vendor estimates to ensure quality and technical competence.
- Provide scope review and seek clarity from vendors on estimates; negotiate costs with vendors/contractors.
- Offer dispute-resolution services on estimate reviews related to the CAA member, vendors, and the Insurance company.
- Advise Property adjusters when exceptions are encountered.
- Coordinate appraisal resources to ensure assignments are dispatched efficiently.
- Participate in industry events and various special projects for the claims department's benefit, as identified from time to time.
What you have:
- 1-3 years of experience in building construction as a project manager or senior property adjuster with an insurance carrier.
- Working knowledge of XACTANALYSIS platform and XACTIMATE software.
- Familiarity with building codes and hazardous material exposure management.
- Relevant post-secondary education complemented by a CIP designation or working towards one.
- IICRC Fire and Water restoration certification (asset).
- Strong organizational, decision-making, and problem-solving skills with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced technical knowledge of property damage analysis.
- Advanced negotiation skills and investigative logic.
