<h3>Job Description</h3><p>Job Description<p><p>This is a contract position of approximately 16 months, based in Kingston, Ontario. The Project Lead will join a team focused on developing energy solutions for large business and institutional customers, including electric vehicle charging infrastructure, battery storage systems, solar PV, and power generation initiatives. The role involves developing and implementing protocols for project planning and scheduling, as well as updating, monitoring, and analyzing cost and schedule performance metrics. The Project Lead will identify and address variances between actual and planned results, and contribute to the creation of departmental procedures, guidelines, and instructions to ensure effective communication of cost and schedule information. Additionally, the Project Lead will monitor construction progress at the Kingston terminal for the Wolfe Island electric ferries, meet regularly with on-site construction crews, and coordinate activities with other contractors engaged by the project owner.</p><p>RESPONSIBILITIES:</p><ul><li><p>Project management activities from conception through to operations including front-end planning and project controls in accordance with Project Management governance</p></li><li><p>Develop project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility</p></li><li><p>Support Project Development team with initiatives as appropriate</p></li><li><p>Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation</p></li><li><p>Ensure compliance with commercial and project management framework</p></li><li><p>Ensure that projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget</p></li><li><p>Following project controls processes to manage changes in scope, schedule and costs</p></li><li><p>Track and report on project performance, status, schedules, and budgets</p></li><li><p>Support project conception and assist in investigation of growth opportunities that maximizes value for clients and support PowerON’s commercial objectives</p></li><li><p>Assist the Project Development team in the maintenance of project requirements, supporting delivery of performant highly complex projects</p></li><li><p>Maintain relationships and communication with internal and external stakeholders</p></li><li><p>Maintain close liaison with field construction contractors and customer site representatives to ensure successful project execution during construction, commissioning, and project close-out</p></li><li><p>Manage third-party contractors to ensure alignment on matters involving design, schedules, costing, and other related issues including involvement in the procurement process</p></li><li><p>Create and review project schedules with the customer and project team to ensure on time project delivery</p></li><li><p>Develop and manage project budgets and maintain project profitability</p></li><li><p>Review cost variance reports, provide explanations and recommendations for disposition of variances, and take corrective actions when required</p></li><li><p>Perform risk management to minimize project risks and suggest strategies to proactively overcome challenges</p></li><li><p>Maintain close liaison with field construction forces and operations</p></li><li><p>Visit various site locations, manufacturers, and suppliers as required</p></li><li><p>Optimize internal processes to improve efficiency</p></li><li><p>Other duties as required</p></li></ul><p></p><p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p><ul><li><p>University Degree in Engineering or related field.</p></li><li><p>PMP is an asset</p></li><li><p>5+ years of experience in engineering and/or project management</p></li><li><p>Direct experience managing electrical projects involving, solar, batteries, generation, distribution or EV’s an asset</p></li><li><p>Experience leading and overseeing construction site operations, system commissioning activities, and compliance with related health and safety and environmental regulations.</p></li><li><p>Technical knowledge of EV charging, battery storage and other electrical equipment</p></li><li><p>Self-initiated and intellectually curious, with a strong interest in electrification</p></li><li><p>Enjoys interacting and collaborating with clients, vendors, and diverse teams</p></li></ul><p></p><p>While all qualified candidates are invited to apply, we particularly welcome applications from women, persons with disabilities, First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples, members of visible minorities, and 2SLGBTQ+ persons.<em><br /></em></p><p><em>PowerON will accommodate candidates under the AODA legislation in all aspects of the hiring process.
