Our client, one of the big 5 banks in Canada, is looking for a Funding and Booking Operations Lead to join their team on a hybrid basis - working out of the Mississauga, Ontario area.
About the Role
We’re looking for a highly organized, detail‑oriented Operations & Project Support Specialist to join our team. This hybrid role blends operational oversight, project execution, and strategic coordination. You will lead and support Day One originations operations (Funding & Booking), serve as the onshore liaison for our offshore team, and play a key role in system modernization and process improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead offshore Funding & Booking operations, ensuring quality, SLA compliance, and operational efficiency.
- Provide backup coverage for BAU funding and booking tasks, including wire processing and deal booking.
- Troubleshoot operational issues and escalates urgent priorities (e.g. dealer requests).
- Serve as liaison between Deal Review Specialists, offshore teams, and internal account managers.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Communicate funding/booking status updates and resolve inquiries promptly.
- Support system migration efforts as SME/tester, including requirements gathering, testing, and readiness activities.
- Participate in change management initiatives such as readiness assessments, stakeholder engagement, and execution planning.
- Contribute to program planning and risk analysis to drive operational improvements.
- Collect, analyze, and format data into dashboards and reports for performance tracking and exception management.
- Monitor SLA performance (Funding ≤ 24 hrs; Booking ≤ 48 hrs) and proactively address issues.
- Support automation and workflow optimization initiatives using SharePoint, Power Apps, and Microsoft 365.
- Leverage technical skills—SQL, Python, JavaScript, or AI/coding tools—to enhance operational efficiency (preferred).
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of relevant experience in financial services operations, program/project coordination, or business analysis.
- Prior leadership experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with SharePoint, Power Apps, and M365.
