Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Intermediate Accountant to support the accounting and financial operations of multiple operating and holding companies within our portfolio. This role is well-suited for someone with a strong foundation in accounting who is eager to expand their knowledge in a dynamic, multi-entity environment.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and complete monthly bank reconciliations across multiple entities.
Assist with year-end procedures, working papers, and coordination with external accountants.
Prepare or assist with HST filings and ensure compliance with filing deadlines.
Perform general ledger account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including posting transactions and reconciling balances.
Assist with intercompany reconciliations and journal entries.
Prepare ad hoc financial reports and analysis as requested by management.
Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems for accounting records.
Support the accounting team with administrative duties related to audits, compliance, and other special projects.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2-4 years of progressive accounting experience (multi-entity experience is an asset).
Solid understanding of accounting principles
Proficiency with accounting software (experience with Sage, QuickBooks, or similar systems is an asset).
Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, reconciliations).
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
Effective communication skills and ability to work within a team environment.
