Purpose of the Role
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a team of highly skilled software engineers developing solutions for the chromatography market. The candidate should demonstrate strong leadership, technical expertise, and a passion for innovation, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, scalable software that meets customer and business needs.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Product Development
- Lead and manage a team of onshore and offshore software engineers to foster innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Drive the software roadmap for chromatography products, aligning with business strategy.
- Oversee the full software development lifecycle from design to maintenance.
- Lead the transition of chromatography software from desktop to cloud platforms.
- Guide software architecture, technology selection, and proof-of-concept initiatives.
- Manage technical risks and technical debt proactively.
Project Execution & Process Optimization
- Ensure on-time delivery of projects, managing scope, cost, and quality.
- Implement Agile methodologies like Scrum and Kanban.
- Promote DevOps practices including CI/CD, test automation, and secure coding.
- Ensure compliance with security standards (OWASP, ISO 13485, FDA 21 CFR Part 11).
- Manage resources and budgets to optimize team efficiency.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with product managers, hardware R&D, and business teams to develop software solutions based on customer needs.
- Establish communication channels between software and hardware teams for better integration.
- Collaborate with QA teams to ensure software reliability, security, and performance.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
- 10+ years in software development with at least 2 years in leadership.
- Experience with hardware-integrated software applications.
- Managing offshore and global teams.
- Proficiency in .NET 4.8 & 8.0, C#, WPF, Golang, JavaScript, React, CSS.
- Knowledge of microservice frameworks like Kubernetes or Nomad.
- Experience with Agile tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
- Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of secure development practices and DevOps principles.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, or Healthcare industries.
- Knowledge of chromatography software and regulatory standards (ISO 13485, FDA 21 CFR Part 11).
- Experience with performance optimization, cloud deployments, and IoT.
- Background in CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks.
