Summary:

Reporting to the Body Shop Manager, the Assistant Body Shop Manager is responsible for supporting the efficient daily operations of the Collision Centre. This role assists with customer service, staff coordination, work order management, and administrative duties to ensure a smooth workflow, timely repairs, and excellent customer experience. The individual must thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate strong leadership skills, and maintain a high level of professionalism.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Body Shop Manager in overseeing day-to-day operations.

  • Support in developing and maintaining strong customer relationships to exceed expectations and build loyalty.

  • Manage customer intake for collision and glass repair, including creating MPI glass claims and scheduling repair appointments.

  • Monitor the progress of each vehicle throughout the repair process and provide timely updates to customers.

  • Act as liaison between customers, insurance providers, and technicians to ensure clarity of work orders and status updates.

  • Review claims, source proper parts, assist in coordinating estimates and repair plans.

  • Assist in scheduling and dispatching work to technicians to optimize shop productivity.

  • Ensure accurate and timely administrative functions including data entry, filing, service logs, and reconciliation of cash drawers.

  • Maintain compliance with safety, regulatory, and company policies.

  • Support the Body Shop Manager in training, coaching, and developing staff.

  • Assist with housekeeping and facility maintenance reporting.

  • Provide backup coverage for administrative functions when required.

  • Maintain a positive working relationship with team members, management, vendors, and customers.

  • Additional duties as assigned by management.

Ideal Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a collision centre, body shop, or automotive repair environment would be an asset.

  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with excellent attention to detail.

  • Proficiency with computerized systems (internal software, Microsoft Office).

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a professional and customer-focused manner.

  • Ability to work in a process-driven environment with heavy customer and phone interaction.

  • Leadership potential with ability to support and motivate team members.

  • Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record.

  • Positive energy, adaptability, and eagerness to learn and grow within the company.
