Salary: $32.00 $42.00 per hour, depending on experience
We have an exciting opportunity for aTransportation Engineer-in-Trainingto join our team of talented employees in our Charlottetown, PE office!
The successful candidate will be a motivated self-starter and will join our established transportation team of professionals to assist in the delivery of projects including, but not limited to, transportation engineering for infrastructure investment projects, traffic impact studies, traffic operational analyses, parking studies, and design of transportation infrastructure such as roadways, AT facilities, roundabouts, and intersection improvements.Project delivery will include data collection and review, data analysis and reporting, developing transportation models including traffic simulation, preparation of reports and design drawings, among other tasks.

Your Key Responsibilities
- Apply engineering principles to enhance transportation infrastructure and systems;
- Conduct data collection in the field using various technologies;
- Conduct research, carry out complex data analysis, synthesize findings and provide comprehensive summaries;
- Assist with preparation geometric road designs ;
- Develop and run transportation models; and
- Develop design drawings.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Bachelor's or masters degree in Transportation Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field;
- Proven experience in transportation engineering projects;
- Experience with TAC (GDG and MUTCDC) and other provincial/federal regulations and guidelines;
- Experience working with Autodesk Civil 3D and/or InfraWorks;
- Excellent skills in writing, data analysis, and problem solving;
- Strong communications skills, both verbal and written;
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint;
- Proficiency with transportation modelling software packages such as Synchro and VISSIM; working knowledge of other software, such as PTV VISSUM, Arcady, would be considered an asset;
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a collaborative and dynamic environment; and
- Hold a valid drivers license, have reliable transportation, and willingness to travel to job sites.
