Job Summary
The role of Specialist Solution Design is responsible for producing technology solutions aligned with Business Objectives within a specific field of expertise and associated set of technology capabilities.
This is achieved through Consultation – participating to workshops with various stakeholders, understanding user & business requirements, researching data, and technological capabilities.
The mandate participating in developing the roadmap within the domain(s) of expertise; making assisting in recommendations to ensure components relevant; otherwise trigger introduction of new technology as well as containment or retirement.
Main Responsibilities
Project Delivery
• Participate in activities related to the delivery of technology solutions or software development: user stories gathering, fit/gap analysis, RICEFWs tracking, configuration, solution design, functional testing.
• Provide domain(s) expertise for delivery of projects
• Support Solution Designer, Solution Architect and System Integrator
• Assist with QA testing strategy and work with the functional team in with domain(s) of expertise
• Assist with security strategy and work with the functional team in with domain(s) of expertise
• Assist with change management strategy and work with the functional team in with domain(s) of expertise
• Assist with estimating efforts of work breakdown structure elements associated with domain(s) of expertise
• Support stabilization
• Assist with transition-to-core activities
Technology Blueprint / Software Design
• Participate in workshops with different stakeholders to determine scope
• Participate in medium/high complexity blueprint
• Responsible for delivering of blueprint
• Ensure deliverables comply with CN guidelines and Information Security
Requirements
Education/Certification/Designation
• Bachelor’s degree in business, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, a related field of study, or equivalent work experience
Skills/Knowledge
• Good knowledge in domain(s) of expertise
• For SAP, Good knowledge of SAP solution
• Familiar with Agile and Waterfall project methodologies
• Good knowledge of software development, telecom, infrastructure, or Industrial IoT technologies
• Very good technical documentation skills
• Good communication and presentation skills
• Knowledge of IT security principles
• Very good systems engineering or development knowledge
• Sense of prioritization for meeting deadlines
• Very strong knowledge in one domain (specialty)
Specialities
• Must-Have: Experience in Tax (Tax on sales and purchases, Sales tax & use tax, Withholding tax) for Canada and US. Vertex O series.
• Should-Have: Knowledge on other modules SAP FI (AP), (AR)
• Should-Have: Supporting or implementing SAP FI in ECC or S4 Hana
• Should Have: Experience in Agile methodology
• Nice to Have: S4 Hana certification
Experience
• Minimum > 5 years of overall work experience
• Experience designing and deploying solutions in domain(s) of expertise
