Our Ideal Candidate


Allnorth's Vancouver Team is currently looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer. As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for mechanical designs from the conceptual to detailed design level. You will be a team leader responsible for design delivery according to required timeframes and standards by supervising the performance of mechanical engineers, reviewing deliverables and providing high level technical expertise. The role requires working closely with our mining and industrial clients to address their mechanical design issues including support for options assessment and trade-off studies. Allnorth’s clients look to our engineers to provide real-world and practical technical design solutions based on their industry-specific expertise.
You will assist with the development and review of relevant mechanical proposals by providing advice and input as required. You will be responsible for motivating team members towards superior performance by supporting daily performance and providing ongoing mentoring and training.

What You’ll Bring to the Team

  • Undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in British Columbia or eligible for BC P. Eng. registration.
  • Minimum 10 years mechanical design engineering experience in a relevant industry, e.g. mining, mineral processing, materials handling. Preference for experience in base and/or precious metals processing and materials handling systems.
  • Ability to resolve technical issues in an efficient manner utilizing personal knowledge, in-house experience and external subject matter experts.
  • Ability to work with client team(s) on process/mechanical projects including presenting reports, facilitating workshops and visiting client sites/operations.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of multi-discipline engineering to complete industrial projects.
  • Ability to prepare and support development of proposals including providing technical work scope descriptions and estimates of hours/costs for defined scopes.
  • Commitment to mentoring and coaching engineers and designers for completion of technical work packages.
  • Proven ability to manage, motivate and influence employees at all levels.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks for the design team and manage time effectively.
  • Good knowledge of CAD and 3-D design software and MS Office.
