About the Role:


The Senior Coordinator, Mechanical and Electrical will provide guidance and expertise with respect to mechanical and electrical decisions on our major construction projects. The Senior Coordinator will work with Project team to ensure successful completion the project(s).

As we are a highly collaborative team, this role is on-site full-time, and the successful candidate will be required to work in the office Monday to Friday.



Key Responsibilities:


  • Assist with Estimates/takeoffs and scope MEP trades during pre-construction
  • During Design assist phase, assist with regular audits on MEP progress drawing sets issued by consultants tracking comments.
  • Supervise MEP subcontractors on site throughout duration of the project from initial mobilization through to
  • Commissioning and Turnover to property management
  • Assist with reviewing scheduling for all MEP installation activities
  • Work with Superintendent on project logistics and temporary facility plans
  • Review shop drawings for MEP systems for material and equipment against project specification requirements prior to installation
  • Monitor MEP submittals and shop drawings making sure all submittals are completed and reviewed by consultants
  • Weekly Monitor the installation and track progress
  • Coordinate activities, materials procurement and other related activities with Project Manager and Field Staff
  • Review MEP subcontractor progress billing on monthly basis and report to MEP manager and site management
  • Attend site progress trade and all related site meetings
  • Continuously communicate with Digital Construction pertaining to coordination and interferences issues, and assist in generating RFIs
  • Monitor RFI status and push to close open RFIs related to MEP systems
  • Review site instructions received from consultant before official issue to trades
  • Review quotes received from MEP subcontractors for potential changes
  • Continuously Monitor the performance of all MEP trades on sites and report issues to site and management
  • Coordinate mechanical building systems components with other building systems and other design disciplines including architectural, electrical, and structural
  • Ensure equipment is erected, pre-commissioned, tested (if required), and commissioned in accordance with
  • Assist MEP manager in developing a program in coordination with MEP subcontractor and site management for building occupancy
  • Attend site occupancy meetings and make sure that all MEP systems required for occupancy are tested and commissioned in accordance with the program
  • Review MEP subcontracts close out documents in coordination with quality assurance department, making sure that all contractual obligations and paper works are fulfilled
  • Record and report lessons learned on the project to MEP manager



Qualifications and Experiences:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • P. Eng designation is a strong asset
  • PMP certification is considered an asset
  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience coordinating mechanical and electrical systems on high-rise residential construction projects in Ontario
  • In-depth knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and electrical systems in multi-residential buildings
  • Experience with mechanical estimating, takeoffs, and trade scoping in pre-construction phases
  • Skilled in reviewing and coordinating MEP drawings, shop drawings, and equipment submittals
  • Familiar with construction sequencing, scheduling, and logistics planning for high-rise developments
  • Proven experience with commissioning processes and system turnover to property management
  • Strong understanding of Ontario Building Code, CSA standards, and relevant mechanical/electrical codes
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, Procore, and BIM/VDC platforms
  • Strong leadership and communication skills; able to collaborate effectively with consultants, trades, and site staff
  • Experience handling RFIs, site instructions, change orders, and progress billing
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing priorities in a fast-paced construction environment
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to meet project deadlines
  • Physically able to perform tasks that may require walking, lifting, or climbing on active construction sites
