About our client


Our client is a General Contractor and Custom Home Builder in Whistler, Squamish and the Sea-to-Sky Corridor.


Position Summary


The Senior Project Manager (PM) plays a pivotal leadership role in the successful delivery of high-end, complex residential projects. Balancing office-based project management with a strong on-site presence, the PM ensures high standards of quality, performance, and client service are consistently achieved. This role requires a proven leader with deep experience in custom residential construction, capable of driving projects from concept through completion while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence.


Reporting directly to the President, the PM is supported by a Project Coordinator, Administrator, and Site Superintendents, ensuring seamless integration of planning and execution. The Senior PM also contributes to company growth by building strong industry relationships and identifying new business opportunities.


  • Lead projects from start to finish, exercising independent judgment and accountability for overall project success.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, procurement, schedules, quality assurance, reporting, and client care.
  • Coordinate internal teams, consultants, trades, and vendors to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Act as the primary contact for architects, engineers, municipalities, and consultants.
  • Manage estimating, tendering, subcontractor negotiations, and all technical and financial aspects of projects.
  • Ensure all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and in alignment with budget and safety standards.
  • Uphold and enforce company quality, construction, and safety standards.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities while strengthening relationships with clients, consultants, and trades.
  • Apply extensive industry expertise to improve company operations, efficiency, and project delivery.


Qualifications


  • 10+ years of progressive project management experience with a general contractor, overseeing residential projects from inception to completion.
  • Demonstrated success managing custom wood-frame projects with budgets ranging from $1.5M to $20M.
  • Hands on experience and skills in wood frame construction, carpentry background
  • Strong portfolio of completed high-end custom residential builds.
  • Advanced proficiency with project management software (e.g., Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, Co-Construct, Builder Trend, Procore).
  • Excellent command of Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with proven ability to build strong relationships internally and externally.
  • Skilled problem-solver with strong delegation and multi-tasking abilities; solutions-driven and detail-oriented.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, forecast costs, and ensure financial accountability.
  • Experience leading and mentoring teams effectively.
  • Certificate, diploma, or degree in Construction Management or a related field.
