Job Description
The ideal candidate is a critical thinker who will proactively improve the quality systems of the company through internal audits, participation in process improvement programs, and interaction with key partners to obtain constructive feedback.
Responsibilities
- Develop standardized production, quality, and customer-service standards
- Identify potential risks before they become a problem, focusing on root cause analysis and preventive action
- Perform internal and external quality audits and compile detailed reports of findings
- Build a strong team through coaching, mentoring, specific training and performance evaluations
- Ensure internal and external quality metrics are in place and reviewed
- Identify and implement corrective actions
- Lead root cause investigation and resolution
- Organize and facilitate internal and external quality audits
- Provide quality training, guidance and mentoring to employees and suppliers
- Manage supplier quality, approvals and auditing of suppliers
- Organize management review meetings
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Engineering
- 5+ years' relevant work experience
- Certification of AS9100 required
- Knowledge of Nadcap is an asset
- Technologist or Engineering degree required
- 10+ years of relevant Manufacturing, Quality, or Engineering experience
- Solid technical background - ability to interpret drawings and customer specifications
- Knowledgeable in inspection techniques
- Good understanding of quality requirements in an ISO/AS environment
- Strong understanding of Quality Management System and Auditing
- Experience in creating, maintaining and updating QMS (Quality Management System)
- Highly organized with excellent attention to detail
