Job Description

QA Analyst - Contactless Fare Payment Systems/POS

We are seeking a QA Analyst. This position will interface with key stakeholders and apply technical proficiency across different stages of the Software Development Life Cycle, including Requirements Elicitation, Application Architecture definition, and Design. The role involves creating high-level design artifacts, delivering high-quality code for modules, leading validation and testing activities, and supporting implementation, transition, and warranty phases.

Required Qualifications

  • This position requires 100% onsite work.
  • Valid Ontario Driver’s License with own vehicle, as travel to different client locations within Toronto is involved.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of automated fare collection concepts in public transportation, preferably contactless card payment systems.
  • Experience in testing financial transactions and reconciliation processes, including credit/debit card processing, open payments, and Fare Media standards.
  • Extensive experience in assessing and reviewing business and system requirements, including analysis, verification, traceability, gap analysis, and risk assessment.
  • Experience in testing complex enterprise or industrial applications, including functional, non-functional, and system integration testing, with requirements traceability.
  • Proficiency in database technologies such as SQL Server, Oracle, MS Access.
  • Knowledge of network and data communication protocols.
  • Interface validation skills, including automated data file parsing and analysis using Perl or Shell scripting.
  • Knowledge of public transportation operations and business functions.
  • Understanding of Device Environmental Standards (EN 60950 and EN 50155) for electronic equipment; standards may evolve during the contract.
  • Understanding of QA processes based on CMMI and/or ISO standards.
  • Knowledge of various testing methodologies (waterfall, V-model, Agile).
  • Strong problem-solving skills with experience in defect management tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Certified CSTE/CSQA is a plus.
