<p>Our growing Oakville client who is a small Accounting firm is looking for a Senior Accountant to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years related experience and will be responsible for the following:</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <p> Detailed review of notice to reader, review and audit files to ensure compliance with all relevant standards and Firm policies</p> <p> Detailed review of corporate, personal tax, and trust returns to ensure compliance with all relevant standards and Firm policies</p> <p> Detailed review of T4's and T5's to ensure compliance with all relevant standards and Firm policies</p> <p> Attend and present financial statements at client AGM's</p> <p> Educating, supervising, and mentoring staff with respect to engagement performance and current accounting and taxation issues</p> <p> Communication with clients, other professionals, and Canada Revenue Agency</p> <p> Conduct research, as necessary, on technical matters related to client situations to answer client queries or solve problems</p> <p> Track client deadlines and assist with scheduling to ensure work is completed and filed on time</p> <p> Develop and maintain strong long-term working relationships with key internal decision-makers to provide updates on the engagement process, client issues and proposed solutions, and other office matters</p> <p> Provide input into staff performance reviews</p> <p> Foster a positive, professional, and constructive environment for clients and staff Qualifications/Requirements:</p> <p> CPA designation</p> <p> 3+ years' post-designation experience in public accounting preferably with a small to medium size firm</p> <p> Experience in performing and reviewing accounting, assurance, and tax files</p> <p> Strong knowledge of Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises and Accounting Standards for Not-for-Profit Organizations</p> <p> Strong knowledge of Canadian Auditing Standards and Canadian Standards for Review Engagements</p> <p> Strong knowledge of both personal and corporate tax</p> <p> Proficiency in Caseware Working Papers</p> <p> Experience with Sage 50 and Quickbooks</p> <p> In-depth tax certification an asset</p> <p> Excellent interpersonal and communication skills</p> <p> Strong accuracy and attention to detail</p> <p> Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines</p> <p> Extended hours during personal tax season and occasionally as the volume of work and deadlines require</p> <p>Hours 9am-5pm Please note Mid March to end of April requires extended hours.</p> <p>Salary 100K-120K plus 3 weeks vacation plus 2 weeks off at Christmas.</p> <p>If you are interested in this great opportunity then please apply asap.</p>Browse Jobs in Canada by City
