This role will focus on implementing fit-for-purpose strategies, managing end-to-end procurement activities, and ensuring alignment with project objectives and governance requirements.</p><p><br></p><p>Work Location: Vancouver based only</p><p>Employment Type: Independent Contractor</p><p>Contract Duration: 1 year term with possible extension</p><p>Hourly Rate: Commensurate with experience</p><p><br></p><p><b>Key Responsibilities</b></p><ul><li>Administer Stage-Gate commercial and procurement requirements for the project.</li><li>Develop and implement procurement and commercial strategies tailored to project needs.</li><li>Lead pre-award and post-award activities, including:</li><li>Preparing and issuing tender documentation.</li><li>Managing bid clarifications, evaluating proposals, negotiating complex terms, and drafting award recommendations.</li><li>Issuing contract documents and expediting key deliverables.</li><li>Managing contract changes, negotiating amendments, and handling claims.</li><li>Reviewing invoices and coordinating payments in line with contractual terms.</li><li>Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure clarity of expectations and reliable delivery.</li><li>Coordinate business readiness activities with Commercial, Project, and Operations teams.</li><li>Identify opportunities to add value, optimize costs, and maintain procurement timelines aligned with schedule and budget commitments.</li><li>Experience in materials management is considered an asset.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>Qualifications & Skills</b></p><ul><li>Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or Business Administration.</li><li>Extensive experience in sourcing, procurement, negotiations, contracting, category management, and supplier/stakeholder engagement.</li><li>Proven experience in capital project environments.</li><li>Strong understanding of project execution and contract models (unit rate, lump sum, cost-reimbursable, target price; direct hire, prime contractor, integrated owner teams; competitive bid vs. sole source).</li><li>Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), SAP, Ariba, and commercial systems such as Aconex and Contruent.</li><li>Ability to execute Stage-Gate requirements and manage complex commercial processes.</li><li>Skilled in negotiation, analytical thinking, communication, and structured problem-solving.</li><li>Collaborative mindset with the ability to build strong cross-disciplinary relationships.</li><li>Adaptability, self-awareness, and commitment to delivering outcomes aligned with project goals and values.</li></ul><p><br></p><p>To apply for this position, please send your resume in Word format to </p><p><br></p><p>We thank all applicants for their interest.
