Performs various patient care activities for the personal needs and comforts of the patients: bathing, mouth care, skin care, shampooing, caring for finger and toe nails, prepares and passes nourishment, fresh drinking water, assists patients in toileting procedures, makes beds, keeps utility room and kitchen in proper order, sees that patients’ rooms are clean and tidy, answers call bells promptly, transports patients to and from activities, observing, measuring and recording intake and output, assist patients with Activities of Daily Living, performs housekeeping functions, assists with orientation of new staff and others duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Graduate of the Personal Support Worker program or equivalent course or diploma.

2. At least one year experience is preferred.

3. Compassionate, caring individual preferably with experience in a health care facility, especially in continuing care or rehabilitation

4. Knowledge of proper lifting techniques

5. Bilingualism is an asset.

6. Good attendance and disciplinary record.
