Meaty Eats is a specialty retailer focusing on Fresh Organic Meats and Charcuterie, as well as in-house Breads, Pastry and Prepared Foods. We operate two locations in the GTA, focusing on customer experience.


In support of the Operations Manager, Pasty Chefs / Baker's play a critical part in delivering our food service and culinary programs. Through the preparation of various breads, baked goods, desserts, and pasty, they help us achieve our mission to be the trusted choice for value-added meat products in the GTA.


A background in food service or hospitality with at least 2+ years of experience working in a commercial/production kitchen or similar environment, a sincere respect for food, and commitment to the highest food safety and quality standards will prove pivotal in the fulfillment of their duties.


Main Duties

  • Plan, implement, and manage daily operations
  • Prepare a wide variety of top tier goods such as breads, pastries, cakes, ice creams, pies
  • Decorate pastries using advanced & unique methods so that they are appealing to the eye
  • Monitor supplies and ingredients necessary for daily operations
  • Check the quality of the material and the condition of the equipment
  • Keep a clean work space.
  • Train, guide, and motivate assistants
  • Adhere to health and safety standards
  • Help train retail store associates on products, including talking points, to assist in delivering a world-class shopping experience.
  • Other duties as required


Requirements

  • Previous working experience as a Pastry Chef / Baker for 4+ years
  • Complete knowledge of baking with ingredient limitations (pastries that are gluten-free, sugarless, etc.)
  • Physically capable of being on foot for an entire shift and can lift 50lbs
  • Friendly attitude, Punctual, Focused & Driven
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
