<h3>Overview</h3><p>Report to the Engineering Lead, the Mechanical Designer is responsible for performing, reviewing, and overseeing the design and detail engineering of mechanical equipment and packaged systems related to industrial heating and filtration equipment. Candidates with process design experience are assets. A background with electrical and control systems is an asset but not required.</p><h3>Primary Duties</h3><ul><li>Review technical specifications, prepare, and manage design packages such as vendor document lists, drawings, design reports, engineering and welding procedures, and other technical documentation.</li><li>Review and interpret project specifications, engineering codes, and standards to ensure compliance during all phases of the design and manufacturing process.</li><li>Prepare material lists (BOM), specification sheets, and detailed manufacturing drawings.</li><li>Prepare and/or review pressure vessel design reports and other required calculations.</li><li>Provide engineering and technical support to stakeholders in a timely manner.</li><li>Work closely with production, welding, and quality assurance teams to ensure designs are accurately implemented and meet quality and safety standards.</li><li>Participate in design review meetings and provide feedback between production and engineering for manufacturability of designs.</li><li>Follow all Thermon's quality procedures.</li><li>Maintain computer data files and document records.</li></ul><h3>Education and Qualifications</h3><ul><li>Post-secondary degree in mechanical engineering; other disciplines with related work experience will be considered.</li><li>Licensed professional engineer in Ontario or eligible and working towards one.</li><li>0-10 years of relevant industrial experience.</li><li>Proficient with design tools and software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and/or PDMS.</li><li>Strong understanding of general engineering and manufacturing practices and standards such as ISO, ASME.</li><li>Knowledge of materials properties, welding techniques, and fabrication processes for pressure vessel manufacturing is preferred.</li><li>Working knowledge and experience with ASME BPVC, particularly Section VIII Div.1, is preferred.</li><li>Working knowledge of Autodesk Vault is an asset.</li><li>Working knowledge of COMPRESS and MathCAD is an asset.</li></ul><h3>Skills</h3><ul><li>Able to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.</li><li>Strong written and communication skills; ability to work in a cross-functional team environment.</li><li>Familiarity with Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.</li><li>Excellent problem-solving skills with a strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.</li><li>Excellent attention to detail.</li></ul>#J-18808-Ljbffr
