<p>The mission of the legal department is to advise, protect and enforce EBC's rights throughout the life cycle of a project: from business development to proposals, from execution to servicing built projects.</p>
<p>By joining EBC Legal Affairs, you will join a young and dynamic team at the heart of operations and risk management which supports management in its decisions. You will be called upon to interact with a wide variety of stakeholders within a growing company, but always focused on its values. EBC's legal affairs team includes 9 lawyers and 2 engineers, mainly located in the Montreal, Brossard and Quebec offices.</p>
<h3>Responsibilities</h3>
<ul>
<li>Support and advise project teams during project execution in order to properly protect EBC's rights in its contractual management of customer contracts and subcontracting contracts;</li>
<li>Write partnership agreements, construction contracts, subcontracting contracts and other legal documents;</li>
<li>Assist commercial teams in negotiating agreements with clients, partners, subcontractors, and suppliers;</li>
<li>Study submission documents and identify legal risks of projects;</li>
<li>Support internal process improvement projects;</li>
<li>Collaborate closely with EBC's very large project teams, particularly for all aspects of contractual management and/or complaints;</li>
<li>Advise the company's management on the company's strategic issues.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Requirements</h3>
<ul>
<li>Bachelor of Laws;</li>
<li>Member in good standing of the bar of Ontario and/or a Canadian province;</li>
<li>5-7 years of relevant experience;</li>
<li>Experience in commercial, contract, or corporate law;</li>
<li>Experience in construction law, financing infrastructure projects, corporate financing, and/or mergers and acquisitions (asset);</li>
<li>Excellent command of English, spoken and written;</li>
<li>Occasional mobility across the country;</li>
<li>Fluency in French (important asset).</li>
</ul>
