Legal Assistant – Floater LegalContribute your legal expertise in a flexible, bilingual role supporting professionals across various areas of law. Responsibilities:
• Provide temporary legal support across various areas of law, covering for assigned legal assistants.
• Proactively manage files for assigned professionals.
• Coordinate calendars, schedule meetings, hearings, and events.
• Edit, format, and revise a variety of legal documents (contracts, pleadings, correspondence, etc.).
• Prepare electronic procedure books, closing binders, and other legal documentation.
• Ensure deadlines and deliverables are met.
• Proofread and correct documents to maintain quality standards.
• Support fellow float assistants during slower periods.
• Perform other legal-related tasks as required.
What you will need to succeed:
• Diploma in legal secretarial studies, secretarial studies, or any recognized equivalent training.
• 3 years of experience in legal administrative support.
• Practical experience in litigation and across various areas of law.
• Bilingual in English and French (spoken and written) to support professionals and clients in both languages.
• Excellent grammar skills and strong attention to detail in written communication.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Word (intermediate to advanced level), Outlook, and Excel.
• Adaptability, curiosity, and an open mind.
• Strong sense of responsibility, autonomy, and precision.
• Professionalism, team spirit, and client-oriented mindset.
