Senior Java Developer

Location: Downtown Toronto (On-Site)
Employment Type: Full-Time and Permanent

Canadian Citizenship is required for project security clearance

Venuiti is looking for Java Developers to join our growing engineering team in Downtown Toronto. This is a hands-on technical role with leadership responsibility, ideal for someone who enjoys coding, mentoring, and working closely with cross-functional teams on real-world healthcare systems.

Work Model: Fully on-site Monday to Friday to enable close collaboration with engineering, product, and integration teams.

What You’ll Be Working On

• Enterprise Java applications supporting healthcare system integrations
• Scalable backend services focused on performance, security, and reliability
• Long-term projects with real-world impact in healthcare technology

What You’ll Do

• Design, develop, and maintain Java-based backend systems
• Lead by example through hands-on development and code reviews
• Support and mentor a small team of developers
• Collaborate with architects, analysts, and QA to deliver high-quality solutions
• Participate across the SDLC: design, development, testing, and deployment
• Contribute to DevOps automation, CI/CD pipelines, and containerized deployments
• Help define and improve development standards and best practices

What We’re Looking For

Required

• 6+ years of professional Java development experience
• Strong expertise in Java (Spring / Spring Boot)
• Experience building backend or integration-heavy systems
• Solid understanding of databases (SQL and/or NoSQL)
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
• Comfortable working in an on-site, collaborative environment

Nice to Have

• Experience leading or mentoring developers
• Exposure to Java 17, Spring Security
• Experience with Docker, CI/CD, and DevOps practices
• Healthcare integration experience (FHIR, HL7)
• Experience working on enterprise-scale systems
