Job Description

We are seeking a creative, technically skilled, and motivated Intermediate Interior Designer to join our collaborative team. You will work closely with Principals, Associates, and project leads on all phases of interior design projects and play an active role in mentoring junior designers. The ideal candidate combines strong design sensibility with advanced technical expertise, works well with clients, consultants, and contractors, and thrives under limited supervision while managing multiple project phases.


Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with project leads to develop functional, aesthetic, and budget-conscious design concepts.
  • Prepare space plans, 3D visualizations, rendered elevations, and client presentations.
  • Ensure space plans comply with the latest Provincial Building Codes and any applicable local jurisdictional codes.
  • Produce high-quality contract documentation (working drawings, specifications, permit and tender packages).
  • Administer contract documents, site instructions, and construction administration tasks.
  • Coordinate with consultants (mechanical, electrical, structural, and specialty disciplines).
  • Provide direction and mentorship to junior designers on project tasks.


Skills & Qualifications         

  • 6–9 years’ experience as an Interior Designer working on commercial projects, with experience in healthcare, senior living or education projects advantageous.
  • Bachelor’s degree in interior design.
  • Designated or working towards NCIDQ and RID.
  • Designated or working towards WELL or LEED CI/AP accreditation an asset.
  • Advanced knowledge of BC Building Code, VBBL, and other applicable local codes.
  • Strong understanding of building systems, construction details, and materials/finishes.
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Enscape, Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office Suites.
  • Strong understanding of project budgets and tender documentation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
