<p><h3>Overview</h3><p>An international group focused on designing, manufacturing, and integrating specialized computing platforms and complex systems for industries requiring high levels of reliability and performance for critical, certified, and/or challenging applications. We enable organizations across multiple sectors to deploy innovative and complex technical solutions to meet their operational objectives via specialized computers, tablets, complex electro-mechanical systems, and smart edge IoT platforms. We operate across seven core sectors: defense, healthcare, energy, communications, automation, transport, and leisure.</p><h3>Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Manage technical services team, distributed through multiple locations.</li><li>Organize and structure the department to best deliver technical services to internal and external stakeholders and for future scaling in line with the Company’s growth forecasts.</li><li>Engagement with Sales, Operations, Finance, ITC, Security, and HR to support business objectives.</li><li>Management, work planning, scheduling, and review of work to deliver function-specific outputs and defined milestones to business stakeholders.</li><li>Definition, setting, monitoring, and management of Objective and Key Results (OKRs) for the department, teams, and individuals.</li><li>Participation in the setting of the group and department budget and managing to budget with monthly reviews.</li><li>Provision of leadership for the maintenance of appropriate levels of discipline, monitored controls, and correction to maintain consistency to brand values, culture, and work schedule.</li><li>Regular review and management of the Skills Matrix to ensure the department has the appropriate skills and capacity required to deliver business objectives.</li><li>Mentoring, coaching, and provisioning of constructive feedback to department staff.</li><li>Management of multiple concurrent multi-disciplinary projects with weekly review, prioritizing and reporting, resulting in on-time and on-budget completion.</li><li>Management and technical oversight of design reviews and key milestones to ensure quality standards are maintained.</li><li>Oversee feasibility analysis, project scoping, resource planning, and cost estimating for project activities.</li><li>Management of compliance and certification through collaboration with the quality departments.</li><li>Management of actions, issues, risks, opportunities, dependencies through the project duration.</li><li>Analysis of lessons learned and improvement actions.</li><li>Management and sign-off of contractual, technical change control, customer acceptance, and staged invoicing of NRE deliverables.</li><li>Architecture and design authority responsibility for solutions and products from inception to end of life.</li><li>Oversee and approve the technical output of the department ensuring compliance with customer requirements and specifications.</li><li>Ensure designs are optimized for purpose, reliability, and manufacturability.</li><li>Provide subject matter expertise for engineering design in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic, and Software engineering as appropriate.</li><li>Maintain best-in-class subject matter expertise, coordinating knowledge sharing and technical training.</li><li>Ensure smooth NPI handover to production, including BOM, build instructions, training, and ongoing support.</li><li>Control and separation of existing and newly created IPR in design and documentation.</li><li>Customer-facing involvement in the promotion of the business and understanding customer technology needs.</li><li>Delivery of Opportunity Support Requests (OSRs) on time and to agreed standards.</li><li>Preparation and review of product business cases in collaboration with stakeholders.</li><li>Participation in the promotion of technical value proposition to prospects and customers.</li><li>Validation and sign-off of NRE estimations from across the Company.</li><li>Management progression via a professional engineering route.</li></ul><h3>Qualifications</h3><ul><li>Minimum of a formal technical / engineering qualification, preferably a degree in a Mechanical, Electro-Mechanical or Electronics Engineering Discipline.</li><li>Strong knowledge of Process and Project Management.</li><li>Evidence of continuous ongoing self-development & education.</li><li>Lean or Six Sigma preferred.</li><li>Full & clean driving license.</li><li>Engineering Management role with a minimum of 5+ years track record in senior leadership.</li><li>Experience managing remote and international teams.</li><li>Proven experience in people management of multi-disciplinary technical teams.</li><li>Experienced budget setter / holder.</li><li>Experience with product designs to meet industry and regulatory compliance standards.</li><li>Customer / market facing technical experience in an industrial B2B market sector.</li><li>Proven experience in leading and project managing innovation, NPD, and NPI.</li><li>Experience in maintaining and working in a professional methodology aligned to the ISO : 9001 quality standard.</li><li>Sector experience in one or more of: Defense, Medical, Transport, Automation, Energy or Communications.</li><li>Experience in the preparation and presentation of technical proposals.</li><li>Experience working for OKRs.</li></ul><p>Seniority level: Mid-Senior
