This flexible role is ideal for those looking for adaptable hours in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.</p><p><strong>What You’ll Do</strong><br />As a General Service Employee, you’ll play a key role in bringing events to life by:</p><ul><li><p>Setting up and dismantling events both indoors and outdoors</p></li><li><p>Collaborating with supervisors and event services to maintain high standards</p></li><li><p>Ensuring event spaces remain clean before, during, and after events</p></li><li><p>Performing janitorial duties (e.g., scrubbing floors, cleaning restrooms)</p></li><li><p>Working cooperatively with staff, suppliers, and volunteers</p></li><li><p>Opening and closing facilities as needed</p></li><li><p>Meeting event-specific setup requirements and assisting with light maintenance</p></li><li><p>Operating machinery and equipment as required</p></li><li><p>Reporting and helping resolve maintenance issues</p></li><li><p>Maintaining sidewalks, parking lots, and event grounds</p></li></ul><p><strong>Why Join Westerner Park?</strong><br />As part of our team, you’ll:</p><ul><li><p>Contribute to a non-profit agricultural society and exposition association serving the community</p></li><li><p>Work in a positive, people-focused culture where hospitality matters</p></li><li><p>Benefit from flexible scheduling that fits around other commitments</p></li><li><p>Enjoy staff perks, including exclusive discounts and the Perkopolis Program</p></li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li><p>Ability to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends</p></li><li><p>1–2 years of related experience in janitorial work, event setup, general labor, or equipment operation (preferred)</p></li><li><p>Janitorial experience and a Class 5 driver’s license are considered assets</p></li><li><p>Basic computer skills (email, Microsoft Office)</p></li><li><p>Comfortable with physical, hands-on work both indoors and outdoors</p></li><li><p>Ability to safely operate relevant tools and equipment</p></li></ul><p><strong>Compensation</strong></p><ul><li><p>Rate of pay: <strong>$18.85 – $21.02 per hour</strong></p></li><li><p>This is a <strong>casual, event-based position</strong>.
