Our client is a leading global manufacturer with multiple manufacturing plants across Canada for the food-beverage-liquid filling industry. They have a job opening for a Chief Operating Engineer-First Class Power Engineer for one of their manufacturing plants in the Strathroy – London-Woodstock, ON area in Southwestern Ontario.

The ideal candidate must be licensed as a ‘First Class Power Engineer’ – No Exceptions, with experience in leading large teams of engineers. Experience in refrigeration, CO2, and Ammonia is preferred.

Some relocation assistance can be provided within Canada for the right candidate.



Your new role

First Class Power Engineer / Chief Operating Engineer – refrigeration is responsible for the utilities equipment at the manufacturing site including the powerhouse, high-pressure boilers, chillers, and providing leadership to the Operating Engineers. You will ensure Ammonia and CO2 for the site, create preventative maintenance plans, manage the capital projects budgets, select and manage external contractors, and work towards a predictive maintenance plan.

This leadership role focuses on Continuous Improvement, ensuringpliance under the regulatory requirements laid out by TSSA, initiating energy-efficient programs, and aligning the plant equipment performance with corporate goals as per the TSSApliance. This is a First-Class Union Plant.

What you’ll need to succeed

First Class Power Engineer / Chief Operating Engineer will be a licensed First Class Power engineer by TSSA, able to work in the Sarnia – Chatham Strathroy- London – Woodstock – St.

Thomas – Ingersoll- Kitchener area with strong leadership experience. Excellentmunication skills, previous experience in coaching, mentoring, leading a team, and Continuous Improvement initiatives within this Ammonia CO2 plant.
