As a Product Developer, you'll be a key collaborator within the design team, responsible for creating elevated and cohesive seasonal accessory collections. This role requires a blend of creativity, a keen eye for detail, and a deep understanding of fashion trends to design and develop soft and hard goods for a variety of retail channels. You'll work with top-tier factories to ensure your design vision is fully realized, all while contributing to a fun, creative, and business-focused team environment.

This is a permanent role, which requires the talent to work onsite at our client's office in Oakville 5 days per week. In addition, this role may involve travel both in Canada and abroad.

Responsibilities

  • Focus on identifying and interpreting the latest fashion and social media trends, analyzing runways and trend forecasting sites to inform seasonal planning.
  • Maintain and manage color cards and fabric swatches, translating color standards from trend forecasts into seasonal plans.
  • Manage the full product lifecycle from design concept to production-ready samples.
  • Utilize extensive knowledge of product sourcing and development to create finished products from raw materials.
  • Create complex, print-ready artwork for production using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Develop and execute detailed specification packages for overseas factories, including material information, sketches, and print artwork.
  • Communicate regularly with overseas factories to ensure development samples meet required standards.
  • Maintain an understanding of the relationship between price and product development and design, and create and manage costing files.
  • Develop fluid accessory collections for various national and private label brands.
  • Collaborate with international teams to ensure all sourcing is completed within the timeline.
  • Travel domestically and internationally for market research and trend analysis.
  • Identify areas for improvement to challenge the status quo.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in design and accessory construction.
  • Post-secondary education in Fashion Design or Graphic Design.
  • Expertise in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop is a must.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong understanding of colour theory.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to multitask.
  • An e-portfolio is required.

If you are a creative and detail-oriented professional with a passion for fashion accessories, we encourage you to apply. Please submit your resume and portfolio for consideration.
