Door-to-Door Marketing Representative

Position OverviewWe are a student-run painting and staining company seeking Door-to-Door Marketing Representatives to support residential lead generation through in-person outreach. This role is designed for students who are comfortable working in a field-based environment and who are motivated by performance, skill development, and accountability.
The position requires consistent effort, professionalism, and the ability to apply coaching in real time. Representatives who succeed in this role are typically reliable, self-directed, and open to improving their communication and outreach approach over time.
Key ResponsibilitiesRepresentatives will be responsible for conducting structured marketing outreach within assigned residential neighbourhoods. Core responsibilities include:
- Traveling to assigned marketing routes using personal transportation
- Engaging homeowners in professional, respectful conversations
- Communicating the company's painting and staining services accurately
- Identifying homeowner needs and determining potential interest
- Collecting and recording lead information with accuracy and integrity
- Representing the company's brand and values consistently in the field
- Managing time effectively while working independently
- Tracking daily activity and performance metrics
- Applying coaching, feedback, and training to improve results over time
- Maintaining punctuality, attendance, and consistency across scheduled workdays
This position operates under a performance-based compensation model.
Compensation is determined by measurable outcomes, including:
- The quality and accuracy of leads generated
- The effectiveness of communication with homeowners
- Consistency and demonstrated improvement over time
There is no fixed earnings cap. Compensation reflects individual performance rather than hours worked.
Training & DevelopmentAll representatives receive structured onboarding and ongoing coaching designed to support success in the role. Training focuses on:
- Field communication and outreach techniques
- Lead qualification standards and best practices
- Professional conduct and brand representation
- Performance tracking and continuous improvement
Coaching is direct and practical, with the expectation that representatives apply feedback to their day-to-day work.
Requirements & Attributes for SuccessTo perform effectively in this role, applicants must meet the following requirements and demonstrate qualities that support success:
- Be between 1622 years of age and legally eligible to work in Canada
- Have reliable access to a vehicle for transportation to assigned marketing routes
- Be comfortable working outdoors and walking for extended periods
- Be willing to engage in face-to-face conversations with homeowners
- Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and professional conduct
- Be able to work independently while following structured expectations
- Be open to receiving feedback and applying coaching to improve performance
- Show personal accountability for results and daily effort
- Possess or be willing to develop clear, confident communication skills
- Approach the role with a willingness to learn and adapt
No prior sales or marketing experience is required. The ability to apply feedback and improve over time is more important than previous experience.
