Job Description

The Chartered Professional Accountants of British Columbia (CPABC) is seeking a dynamic, results-driven leader with a proven ability to collaborate and engage audiences for the position of Director, Indigenous Engagement. CPABC is proud and honoured to have been recognized as one of BC’s Top Employers for a sixth consecutive year in 2025. Come join a collaborative network of like-minded professionals and take the first step towards an exciting opportunity by applying to the position.

This is a leadership position for an Indigenous individual to guide and direct CPABC’s Indigenous Engagement Operational Strategy. CPABC is a diverse organization with a mandate to protect the public interest, with responsibilities as a regulator and supporting and educating its 40,000+ members and 6,000+ students. The Indigenous Engagement Operational Strategy touches all aspects of CPABC, so the Director of Indigenous Engagement works with all departments in the organization, providing guidance and direction where other departments carry out aspects of the Indigenous Engagement Operational Strategy, as well as overseeing the Indigenous Engagement Operational Strategy itself. This individual will also lead interactions with other organizations in areas related to the goals within our Indigenous Engagement Operational Strategy, seeking opportunities for collaboration and partnership.

As the ideal candidate, you are experienced with 10+ years of progressive leadership in Indigenous engagement, partnership governance, or public interest program leadership, including several years at a senior level influencing cross organizational initiative and reporting to executive audiences. You hold knowledge of the B.C. Indigenous landscape, including First Nations, Inuit, and Métis communities and organizations; familiarity with Nation‑specific protocols, Elders’ and Knowledge Keepers’ roles, and respectful approaches to engagement in urban and rural context.

Pursuant to Section 42 of the B.C. Human Rights Code, this is a preferential hire for Indigenous applicants. Candidates who wish to qualify for preferential consideration are invited to self-identify in their application.

The starting annual salary for this position is between $132,400.00 and $157,200.00 per annum, based on candidates’ qualifications, experience, and internal parity. Exceptions may be considered with further review.

Recruitment for this position is being managed by Pathways Executive Search on behalf of CPABC.
