Construction Project Manager – Commercial Projects

Taylor Ryan is working with a long term client who has been in the Vancouver construction industry for over 30 years. We are seeking a Project Manager that has proven track record of managing a commercial new build or tenant improvement projects in the range of $10-50M.

This role would be well suited for someone with a relevant educational history in Construction Management or Architectural Building Technology with previous experience working with general contractors.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and manage construction projects from start to finish, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget and to the required standard of quality.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules and budgets, and provide regular progress reports to senior management.
  • Coordinate and manage subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring that they adhere to project specifications and timelines.
  • Work closely with the design team to ensure that all plans and specifications are accurate and meet the project requirements.
  • Oversee the procurement of materials and equipment, and ensure that they are delivered to site on time and in good condition.
  • Ensure that all work is performed safely and in compliance with relevant health and safety regulations.
  • Monitor and manage project risks and take appropriate action to mitigate them.
  • Maintain positive relationships with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage project documentation and ensure that it is accurate and up-to-date.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience managing construction projects, preferably in the commercial and/or institutional industry
  • Strong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to lead a team and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with clients and other stakeholders.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction processes, materials, and techniques.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to identify issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Familiarity with construction project management software and tools.
