About the Role

We are seeking an experienced
Civil Construction Superintendent
to oversee and manage day-to-day field operations on civil infrastructure projects across Toronto and the GTA. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in supervising crews, coordinating subcontractors, and ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of civil construction projects including roads, bridges, utilities, earthworks, and site development.
  • Supervise field staff, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure work meets project plans, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Develop, monitor, and maintain project schedules, ensuring milestones are met.
  • Enforce health and safety policies, conducting regular site inspections to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to address challenges and resolve issues in the field.
  • Track progress, prepare daily/weekly site reports, and maintain accurate project documentation.
  • Ensure effective use of manpower, equipment, and materials to maximize efficiency.
  • Lead site meetings and provide clear direction to crews and subcontractors.
  • Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement on the job site.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in civil construction, with at least 1 years in a Superintendent role.
  • Strong knowledge of civil infrastructure projects (roads, bridges, utilities, earthworks).
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage diverse crews and subcontractors.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and contracts.
  • Solid understanding of construction scheduling, budgeting, and cost control.
  • Commitment to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Proficiency in project management software and MS Office is an asset.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to sites across Toronto and surrounding areas.
