Job Description
Greenflow is looking for a Full-Time Chemical Technician to help supports the Operations team. Primary role will be to sort, organize and repack chemical hazardous waste within the facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Have thorough knowledge of the procedures and regulations for handling, packaging, bulking, transporting and disposal of waste streams (including all M.T.O., M.O.E.C.P., M.O.L. and TDG regulations.) Apply this knowledge to carrying out all duties
- Responsible for handling various waste streams from receipt to final processing/shipment including: sorting, packaging, bulking, labelling and organizing waste on site
- Monitor and document all waste levels and inventory. This includes completing all applicable paperwork and electronic records (including work orders and M.O.E. manifests)
- Supervise warehouse staff to ensure peak efficiency. This includes providing instructions for daily tasks, identifying development opportunities and assisting in training new hires
- Coordinate flow of waste through warehouse keeping in mind site capacity, scheduled client services and scheduled deliveries to other facilities
- Occasionally may need to accompany drivers to collect and transport waste streams
- Know the procedures for safe operation of hydraulic lifting devices including forklifts, strapping and stapling equipment, and shipping dock levelers and doors
- Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor
Knowledge, Skills, Competencies:
- Successful completion of a University or College program with a focus on Chemistry or equivalent industry experience
- Pervious work experience in waste management setting is preferred
- Valid G Class Driver's license is an asset
- Previous Forklift experience is an asset
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00-$35.00 per hour
