Your Role
As our Academic Coordinator, you’ll play a central role in planning, overseeing, and elevating academic qualityacross OIHS programs. You’ll work closely with teachers, leadership, and students to ensure every course reflects the Ontario Curriculum and meets international standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead academic planning and ensure alignment with the Ontario Grades 9–12 curriculum
- Guide and support teachers on syllabus creation, lesson design, and assessment strategies
- Oversee the quality and accuracy of lesson plans, rubrics, and course outlines
- Ensure compliance with Growing Success policies, OSSD credit requirements, and PLAR processes
- Coordinate teacher training, workshops, and professional development
- Support international students in placement and language assessment processes
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting for midterms, final grades, report cards, and transcripts
- Manage and maintain accuracy within the Student Information System (SIS)
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education (OCT or equivalent preferred)
- 3+ years teaching experience + 1+ year in academic planning or coordination
- Deep knowledge of the Ontario Curriculum, OSSD structure, and PLAR policies
- Expertise in instructional design, assessment strategies, and digital learning tools
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Fluency in English required
