Wage: $27.230 - $28.540 per hour

Open to all qualified CUPE staff, commencing 13 January 2026 and closing 20 January 2026 at 11:59 pm
Position Summary
Reporting to the Manager of Food Services, the Dietary Aide will support the set‑up, preparation, serving and clean‑up of all meal services at the 320‑bed Lakeridge Gardens long‑term care home located on the Ajax‑Pickering site.
Responsibilities
- Perform inventory functions to ensure proper products and adequate supplies are available
- Store supplies in their proper locations and rotate them appropriately in order to use older stock first
- Assisting with the planning of food items and ingredient control
- Serve meals to residents by offering choice in food and beverages for all diet types and textures
- Prepare food and beverages as required for outpatients and visitors
- Operate retherm units
- Assist cooks as needed with food preparation, planning, and portioning
- Set up and clean the kitchen and dining areas as required
- Verify, document, and report discrepancies of various temperatures, including food/beverages at point of service, fridges, freezers, and dish and pot washing machines
Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Completion of an approved Food Service Worker Certificate, or equivalent diploma as recognized by the Ministry of Long‑Term Care
- Completion of an approved Food Handler's course
- Relevant food service experience in a health care environment is preferred
- Demonstrated compliance with and knowledge of safe work practices
- Proven communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to follow both oral and written instructions
- Physical ability to perform the essential duties of the job

- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff, patient and environmental safety and participation in regular in‑services in this area
