Maintenance Supervisor

PURPOSE

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and supervising the activities of maintenance employees and maintaining equipment in good working order to ensure production requirements can be met.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist in designing, planning, locating, negotiating and purchasing of new equipment for plant expansion

Provide leadership for equipment installation and secure resources to achieve rated speeds and safe operation within specified timelines


Ensure the building, machinery, and services (electricity, steam, ammonia etc.) conform with and are maintained to legislative requirements

Design, coordinates and implement modifications required to fine tune production process.


Compile/maintain operation statistics/reports for the department

Analyze machinery down time/utilization and implement solutions to ensure that equipment operates at rated efficiencies


Ensure that all personnel within the department are trained in safety standards and these standards are being monitored

Act as primary point of contact and key resource person to meet with equipment suppliers in bringing latest improvements to the company


Manage a team of maintenance staff (including millwrights, electricians, technicians, maintenance helpers) to carry out day-to-day maintenance work

Provide direction to undertake preventive and predictive maintenance
